Christmas is all around me - December 15, 2008

Only 8 more days and it's Christmas! Ahhhh! I've been really busy the last weeks .. working all the time - but for Christmas I'll be off. So when am I going to do my Christmas shopping? I don't know! I already ordered some stuff online and hopefully it will get her until Christmas. I already bought me my Christmas present: a new digital camera and a new watch. Gosh, I haven't wore a watch since about 10 years! But I always wanted one, so I decided to buy one for my first salary. I got my first salary in November and I started to look for MY watch. There were sooo many! But I found MINE: it is black and has two Swarowski crystals. It looks awesome! Love it!

I went home every weekend in lately, since there is so much going on: Christmas market, Anja's moving-in party, birthdays and soon Christmas will be here. I have to work on December 23rd and maybe I will take the train home to Dresden on Dec 24th in the morning. It will be so crowded on December 23rd! Nothing is going on on Christmas Eve, my Mom has to work and I will be alone. We will celebrate Christmas on the 25th and 26th.

Pictures of the 574th Christmas Market of Dresden! I also visited the Christmas Market in Frankfurt and Dresden definitely has the better one..

Aga and Alex got married - October 25, 2008

October 25 is the date when Aga and Alex got married in Wroclaw, Poland. Me and Elli were invited and of course we joined the ceremony and the party. We drove to Poland a day before and we found the hotel "Lotus" without any problems. We knew the way like the back of our hand and didn't even need a navigation system. Hotel Lotus was right next to the cathedral, so we only had to walk around the corner. Elli booked a hotel room for two nights and she did a good job. The hotel was normal standard and even the breakfast was tasty. Friday Evening Aga picked us up and the three of us went out for dinner. It was sooooo good to see Aga again and we really enjoyed the evening- had a couple of Vodka shots and a greek meal.

Saturday Morning me and Elli got ready for the register office. We walked there and Aga and her family already awaited us. The mayor of Wroclaw married the two and me and Elli cried - it was so emotional. Then after the register office we had two hours to get ready for the cathedral, where the priest married them. Aga wore a beautiful white wedding dress with little red flowers. She looked so goregous!!! OMG!! And also Alex looked very good in his suit. The ceremony lasted at least an hour and since it was my first wedding in the cathedral I was really amazed of everything.

After the ceremony we went around the corner to the hotel, where the party took place. All of her family members and friends were there to congratulate the newlyweds. The wedding party rocked! Lotz of food, lotz of vodka and lotz of dancing! OMG! I love polish weddings, we had so much fun and everyone was so happy and Agas Mom was so sweet. Pictures!

Bachelor-Diploma with 2.2 - October 15, 2008

I finally got my Bachelor Diploma! YAY! And Im really happy about the grade: 2.2 !! YES!! *Congrats to me* now my working career can begin.

I settled in my new flat-sharing community and my new work-life: I get along with Siham and Im glad I have a good train connection to work. It takes me about 30 minutes to get to Eschborn and I only have to change trains one time. I like my work, I got more to do than I was used to when I had my internship and of course I get paid more. Im finally independent and can pay everything by myself. Good thing to know!

I'm really excited about Aga's wedding, which takes place October 25th! I will go over to Elli on October 23rd already so that we can drive to Poland on October 24th. Elli will take her parents car .. thats gonna be a cool ROADTRIP!! YAY!

Looing for an Apartment in Mainhattan - October 5, 2008

I found a nice girls' flat-sharing community in Frankfurt Nordend. That is close to the inner city and the girl Siham is really nice. The flat is in the 6th floor and the house does not has an elevator *damn* but that keeps me fit, since my fitness-contract at Amiga ends. My Mom came over last Saturday and we moved all my stuff to the new apartment. Got in only 3 months i collected so much stuff-- I went home from Oct 1 to 3 to get the rest of my stuff so I officially started working on October 6th. Friday I had a little goodbye-party at the mexican restaurant Espitas in Dresden. Some of my close friends came and we had a good time -- it is always hard to say goodbye, but it won't be forever!! Dresden is only 4,5 hours away with the ICE train. I think I made the right decision and Im glad I finally can start working on my career..pictures of my goodbye-party will be online soon!

I'm staying in Frankfurt - September 20, 2008

My chef asked me if I wanted to take over the job of another employedd, who got fired. And of course I said yes. So I will work for the Deutsche Börse but as freelancer. AMD in Dresden wasn't happy when I cancelled my student-job and so was the girl who I already promised to move in with. But life can change at the last minute - nobody knows. So now I need to find a new apartment, because I have to move out of the old one end of September. I got one week to find a new place to stay. I already made some appointments for flat-sharing communities, so we will see. My Mom is coming over next Saturday and will help me getting my stuff to the new place.

A memorable Day - September 11, 2008

Is 9/11 becoming just another calendar date? I read an article at usatoday.com and I can deny this question. September 11 will never become a regular calendar date. Seven years after the terror attacks I still remember this day and I cannot forget the horrible pictures on TV. A new videotape featuring Osama bin Laden surfaced in the last days and reminds everyone that the terror is still alive and Germany could also be a new target for al-Qaeda.

This year on September 11, I'm sitting in the office at Deutsche Börse in Frankfurt. I just had lunch with my colleagues and nobody talked about the tradegy -- that is in fact sad! For most of them, so it seems, the day is just another calendar date.

A lot happened concerning my future - September 7, 2008

I got a cool part-time job and a new home to live.

I went back to Dresden on Thursday evening because I had a job-interview at AMD in Dresden on Friday. The interview went great and I got the 20 hours-job in the Communications section *yeah* I also looked at a WG in Dresden Cotta, because I need to live somewhere when I'm back. The WG is located in Dresden Cotta, only a few streets away from where I lived with my Mom. The girl, who let a huge room in her apartment is named Linda and she is nice. Linda even has a cute cat, which I can hug when I feel lonely -- So I'm all set for my comeback in 2,5 weeks :)

On Friday afternoon I went back to Frankfurt together with Franzi and her boyfriend. Franzi and Ralf visited me over weekend and I showed them around in Frankfurt. Fortunately on Saturday there was the Apple-Wine-Fest, so we could drink lotz of apple wine. Saturday evening we went to the Mexican restaurant "Sausalitos". The food was great but the atmosphere totally sucked! It was more like bar atmosphere: loud music!!! You couldn't understand the people sitting at the table, so me and Franzi and Ralf could not chat at all. We left the restaurant after dinner and walked to a nearby street festival. Pictues!

Dresden's Street Festival - August 17, 2008

Dresden's Street Festival 2008 was very rainy but it was nice to see my friends again: Franzi, Romy, Anja, Jens, Rico, Heiko, Frank and some more. We walked around in the inner city, had the yummy bacon-cheese bread for dinner and ended up at the Bowleparty. I met my Mom at the Bowleparty, since she had to work late-shift..it was good to see her again! I miss my Mom! Pictures!

Sunday I went for coffee at my Grandmom's and also checked out a WG nearby. The WG was top, the room nice but it was tooo loud because of the street infront the house and kinda expensive. The girl wanted 250 Euro without Internet flatrate! I probably won't take the room then.

Now I'm back in Frankfurt and at work we are busy with our Relaunch of boerse-frankfurt.de It is due to August 28 and we still have lotz to do. Cannot wait until the new site is going online. We are planning a relaunch-party afterwards *YAY*

Settled in Frankfurt - July 17, 2008

My third week is almost over and I finally settled in Frankfurt. I like my room and I like my internship at Deutsche Börse. We got lotz to do with the new website. The Relaunch is due to Sept 1st and until then all pages have to be coded. So most of the time I'm coding and testing webpages - but it's fun and the time flies.

I was not bored over the weekends yet - I already had guests over the weekends: First weekend Jens visited me and last weekend Anja came over from Dresden. With both I did a Sight-Seeing Tour but we noticed that Frankfurt has nothing to offer. The "skyline" of Frankfurt is nice but I liked the skyline of Chicago better. In the inner city you can shop until you drop- lotz of stores but expensive. Anja liked the shopping and we even found lotz of stuff for discount. Anja bought a shirt and shoes and I bought two shirts for under 10 Euro! Last Saturday we also wanted to check out the nightlife of Frankfurt. Nadja suggested "The Living" but when we arrived at that club at 10.30 p.m. only a few people were there. The bouncer said the party starts at midnight but we can get in already for only 10 Euro!! 10 Euro - oh my god-- that's expensive. Haven't they heard of "Girls get in for free until Midnight" ??? Probably not. We dicided to go to a bar instead and have a cocktail since it took us two hours to get ready for our "Girls Night Out". Pictures!

Started Internship at Deutsche Börse - July 2, 2008

I arrived in Frankfurt on Monday at 5 pm. My Mom gave me a ride and fortunately my whole stuff fitted in our Opel car. You can imagine, the car was really packed! When we arrived Mrs. Menne, my hirer, already awaited us. Im sharing a 2-room-apartment with another girl named Nadja. My room has everything I need for the next three months, even an extra bed for guests- So you all can come over and visit me. The apartment is only 20 minutes away from the Deutsche Börse in Eschborn. You may wonder why the Deutsche Börse is not placed in Frankfurt any longer. It moved to Eschborn right next to Frankfurt because of commercial taxes. They are much lower in Eschborn than in Frankfurt.

My first day at Deutsche Börse was really relaxed. I started at 10 am and with me, two other students: Katharina and Florian. We spent about two hours to get our ID-card with photo, which turned out really nice. I like it a lot because it looks important, although Im only an intern. You need the ID for everything: to get into the Börse building and to get free lunch. The Börse building in Eschborn is not the newest, so guess what, we have no air conditioning. BUT: we get free ice-cream everyday at 2:30 pm. That totally rocks! I also have my personal E-Mail address at deutsche-boerse.com. The people here are very nice and they are on the first-name basis with everybody. My task is to help with the relaunch of the new Börse website.

Last week in Dresden - June 29, 2008

I finished my Bachelor thesis last Sunday and printed 104 pages at home on Monday and Tuesday. On Thursday I handed in my thesis and passed my oral test with a 1.3 *yeah* on the same day. Theoretically Im done with university; Im only waiting for my thesis results and need to do my internship at Deutsche Börse in Frankfurt. My Mom will drive me to Frankfurt coming Monday. I cannot wait, Im really excited! I already packed all my stuff and I hope it will all fit in our little car.

On Friday Josis and Thomas celebrated their birthdays at Zitronenpresse. The party started at 10 p.m. and we had to dress up.. I dressed up like a Hawaii Girl and Josi dressed up like a sexy cat she looked gorgeous! The best costume had a guy, who came as Spongebob! He definitely rocked the party! The party was the last chance to see my friends and we also celebrated my bachelor-degree. Pictures!

Skating, BBQ and Thesis - June 7, 2008

Me, Franzi and Frank went to the Nightskating yesterday. First time this year and it totally rocked!!! Although the route was very very long - we made it! Going over to Franzi tonight to have a little BBQ. Last weekend Romy had a BBQ at her apartment. Pictures!

I'm still VERY busy with my bachelor thesis. Deadline is June 26 *ahh* but I already wrote 20 pages. Ten more to go! Cross your fingers for me, please! This need to be good. Already sorry so short- need to continue with writing.

Hexenfeuer and Moritzburg - May 3, 2008

I'm back from the Hexenfeuer 2008 in Thalheim. Every year on the same day, April 30, the Hexenfeuer takes place at my grandmom's village. My relatives and Anja joined this year's event and we had a lot of fun. Witches were dancing around the huge bonfire and music were playing. Pictures!

Coming Monday my run of 8 weeks starts. I have to be done with my bachelor thesis before I go to Frankfurt: last June week. Fortunately I already got a 1.7 for my thesis-exposé :) so I'm glad that the draft is okay.

Matthias visited me today and we went to Moritzburg to check out the Wildpark. We didn't see many animals but it was nice walking around and enjoying the jolly weather. Took some cute pictures of wild pigs ;) Pictures!

My Birthday Party - April 15, 2008

Birthday-Party pictures are finally online! Yes I know, you guys waited sooooo long- but here we go: Pictures!

Me and Anja's Birthday-Party at Tusculum totally rocked! Everybody liked it! I mean 50 guests liked it! Yes, this year we invited alot of our friends and everybody had fun! Except me, I had lotz to do and to organize and I couldn't really take part but I'm glad it is over. The next party will take place on our 30th Birthday-- in 5 years!

University started again and I have to hand in my idea for my bachelor thesis by April 23rd- next Wednesday. Although we only have to write at least 5 pages it is hard to think of everything that's important. My bachelor thesis will be about "Online-Film-Communities". I'll give a market-overview of existing film-communities in Germany and U.S.A and analyse the factors of success.

Club Mensa - March 29, 2008

Last night was awesome! Some of us went to Club Mensa. Every month there is a birthday special, where people who's birthday is in that month, get free entry for 5 friends plus free champagne. Since Anja and Franzi turned 25 and 24 we went there and had two champagne for free. Awesome night, but it was a little bit toooo hot at the club. Pictures!

Tonight, Franzi will throw a birthday party at her apartment. And then next Saturday is our big Birthday party @ Tusculum. Need to buy drinks and food and we will have lotz of fun.

University starts on March 9 and Im finally done with my papers! YEAH!

Thalheim - March 10, 2008

Last weekend I spent at my grandparents house in Thalheim. Anja came along to celebrate Stefanie's and my Aunt's Birthdays. We had a BBQ Party on Saturday and I was the BBQ-Master. Yummy steaks and Bowle! After the BBQ me, my cousin and Anja went to Baari, a cocktail bar in Bitterfeld, where we met some of my cousin's friends. Had one cocktail and then off for clubbing at BITZ. BITZ is like a "kids-club" I guess I was the oldest there-- ahh but we had fun anyway!

My grandmom got her arm in plaster because she had an operation on her hand. The other hand will be operated too- but her left hand had to heal first. My grandpa got new nutira-babys and they are soooo cute! AWW! Pictures!

Internship here I come - February 25, 2008

Good news: I got my internship at Deutsche Börse in Frankfurt!! I had an interview on Valentine's Day, Feb 14 and it went well *smiles* I'm really happy! The internship will start on July 1st - for three months, so until I'm done with university. Frankfurt is a big city and perfect for shopping *yay* I guess I will survive there.

I just came back from visiting Matthias. I stayed over the weekend, which was really nice and sunny. We went for a long walk along the Kocher and had ice-cream *yummy* it's really nice with him lately since we came back from our Egypt-trip. And when I'm in Frankfurt I will be alot closer to Heilbronn than now.

Next weeks will be busy- need to finish my papers for university until March 31! So lotz to do :(

I'm back from Egypt - February 6, 2008

Me and Matthias stayed 7 days in Dahab. Dahab is located at the Red Sea and means GOLD in Arabic. The town is famous for diving, snorkeling and windsurfing. It got awesome reefs, like the Blue Hole and the Island of Coral, with lotz of fishes!

Our flight from Nürnberg landed at 2.30 pm in Sharm-el-Sheikh. From there a little TUI bus took us about 90 km north thru the Sinai desert. Our hotel "Swiss Inn" was GREAT: the pool, the beach, the rooms, the food -everything perfect- we had nothing to complain about. Except for the wind: although it was warm (26°C) the wind was really annoying and cold but we went swimming in the Red Sea :)

On our fourth day we booked a desert safari to "Colored Canyon". Along with eight other German tourists we hiked through the rocky and mountainous desert. The rocks were really fascinating: diffrent shapes and colors and we had fun climbing: some paths were little more than a meter wide!

The other days we chilled at the hotel, it was really quiet, no kids crying, only old people stayed at the hotel at that time. No animation team, nothing! We could really relax and watch the gorgeous sunset!Pictures!

Winter-Break - January 25, 2008

Only one more uni-day on Monday and then I'm off until April. Matthias and Me are flying to Egypt next Tuesday and we will be back on Feb 5th. I hope it is sunny and hot in Egypt and I will get a nice tan in 7 days!

Lotz of Birthdays are coming up: Matthias is turning 28 on Monday, my Mom is turning 47 and I will turn 25! Oh Gosh! 25 - that's half a century! For our 25th Birthday me and Anja will throw a huge Birthday party at Tusculum Dresden on April 5th. Since I'm a student I get discount for renting the room :) Anja already designed a cool looking flyer, which I will post later.

Last Friday Franzi threw the first BBQ party of the year! Since the weather was great, the guys barbecued yummy steaks on the balcony :) but the party turned out to be a singstar-party. Tobi and Anja brought Singstar, a playstation-game and we all had fun singing karaoke~ not sure who won, but definitely not Tobi. His voice sounded awful ;) Pictures!

Happy New Year 2008 - January 5, 2008

Hope everyone had a great New Years Eve party?? Not me.. I had a cosy night at Sindringen, together with Matthias. Just the two of us and nobody else-- we chilled the whole evening, Matthias cooked yummy dinner and we watched the AWESOME fireworks. The fireworks were much better than the one in Dresden, believe me~ although Sindringen is a little little cow-village in the middle of nowhere. Im sorry that I could not respond to your sms' since I had NO connection down there-- as I said .. middle of nowhere. Anyway we had a good time tho' no stress! I stayed until Friday in Sindringen and came back last weekend.

On December 28th my last BBQ party of the year 2007 took place at my apartment. I invited "some" friends and we had fun til' 3 in the morning- yeah! Yummy steaks, good music and you know.. Pictures!

Today university started again and only 3 more weeks and I will be flying to Egypt with Matthias :) and yes in three weeks winter-break starts so I will be off until April *yeah* Are you guys jealous? Yes you are! But I got lotz to do for university, five papers need to be handed in by March 31, plus I have to find a great topic for my bachelor thesis *argh* no clue what I will be writing about-- got an idea?

The poster for "biology-diversity" are hanging in Dresden -- check for the street list to make sure you see the UGLY poster!! Gosh I hate the green poster- why didn't the chose ours?? CLICK FOR THE UGLY POSTER
