Me and Oliver are a couple since last Thursday. He asked me at Stefanie's party if I wanna be his girlfriend, and sure I said YES!! Stefanie won a party for 20 people at Coyote Ugly Bar, we had free drinks for 2 hours. Everybody was so hammered and we had a lot of fun. I had to work last Friday and Saturday, and this week it is the same. I'm kinda pissed because I found out that I even have to work on New Years. I really wanna go partying but now I have to spend New Years with Jake, how wonderful. On Sunday me and Prescilla went downtown to meet our boyfriends and we had dinner together at a great Chicago Pizza Restaurant. The stuffed pizza was the best pizza I ever ate *yum* Aga is kinda pissed off because she doesn't has a boyfriend, so I signed her up for several websites, hopefully she finds someone. She was so depressed lately, so we went to see "Love actually" again yesterday. Great movie! Today is Maggie's leaving party at Rockland, she is going back to Germany tomorrow, she gets to spend Christmas at home, Im kinda jealous. Yeah I'm a little homesick right now because of all the Christmas spirit, I'm looking forward to get my Christmas package from my Mom, today I finally got the Travelor Checks, so I gonna get me a new haircut on Thursday.
Sorry that I didn't post for such a long time, what happened to me, well I met a cute guy!! His name is Oliver and he lives downtown Chicago. So the last few days we spent together having alot of fun. We visited Santa Claus in Marshall Fields, got a picture taken. We went to the movies and saw "Bad Santa" and hung out with his friends. All in all it was FUN FUN FUN!! I really enjoy spending time with him. What else - on Friday I went to a Christmas concert at Jake's school, it was really cute, all those kids trying to sing. Jake of course didn't sing at all, he was just standing there making a sad face! My hostfamily got a Christmas tree yesterday and Jake already decorated it. It is not very cold here yet but snow is suppose to come any day. I sent my huge package to Germany today with all the Christmas presents for my family but well, my debit card didn't work so I could not pay and I had no money on me, fortunately Aga borrowed me 50 bugs. Thanks god!
Thanksgiving was on Thursday and we ate alot! The turkey was really yummy and the cake too. After the traditional family celebration me and Aga went over to pick up Prescilla. But we got stuck at Prescilla's house and had more cake and alc! Finally we went to Rockland where we met all the other Aupairs. Friday we all went to the Christkindl Market in Downtown Chicago. It is a German Christmas Market, with lots of German stuff: German food, Gluehwein, Almonds, Goodies, Nutcrackers etc. It was really awesome, and we saw the Christmas tree getting lighted. They sang German Christmas Songs and it really got me in a Christmas mood. After that we decided to go over to Coyote Ugly Bar (again!) where we had a good time, we met some German guys there and Jamie and Volker and the Glass-Queen arrived really late! Ee missed the last train back to Lake Forest. So at like 3 am we took a taxi back home for 70 Dollars OMG!
November 11, I saw Hanson again live in concert. This time in the House of Blues in Chicago. This concert was taped so it's gonna be out on DVD soon. But unfortunately where I stood, no camera catched me. I got there like a half hour before the concert bc I had to work the same day, but I had a good view and it was just so awesome!! I'm glad I got a ticket for that show. On Friday Aga did throw a pyjama party at her house, bc her hostfamily was gone to Mexiko. We were 7 gurls in pyjamas of course, that watched movies, had popcorn and played Twister. Was fun!! I'm goint to an Aupair Meeting tomorrow, at Applebees, three new Aupairs arrived, so let's see how they are like. My Mom sent me a package for December 6, Nikolaus, so I cannot wait until I receive it. German chocolate, oh yeah *yum* I talked to Anja on the phone and to my Mommy, aww I miss them all. My chat friends had another chat-meeting on Saturday, they went ice-skating, I bet they had fun, maybe to the next meeting we gonna have a real-live-conversation on the phone as surprise *smiles* Yup thats actually all what happened so far, sorry for the delay. I'm leaving to Washington D.C. on Saturday *can't wait*
I got a ticket for the Hanson concert in Chicago on November 11. It is gonna be there last concert of this tour so I'm glad that I can go and got a ticket. I'm really excited. Tomorrow is Halloween and I also have a Cluster Meeting. Not sure yet if I will go, bc it might be boring. We are going over to Rockland tonight, Pascal has his leaving party and we also wanna discuss the trip to Washington. I might meet up with Jamie while I'm in Washington, because he is stationed close by. I just finished the work on dresdenchat.com. I redesigned it, because I didn't like the layout anymore. What else: Me and Aga went to the movies and we saw this Horror movie about the Texas Masacer, ohhh it is so scary don't watch it. I couldn't sleep that night. Then last Saturday, we ended up at Prescillas house with two vodka bottles, and we got really drunk.
Nothing special happened since the last post. I called home several times and worked on the dresdenchat.com website. It is getting a new layout and I need like about one more week to have it perfect. I will go on a weekend trip to Washington D.C. in November. The round trip is $156 and I will probably stay at Jamie's. Cause he is stationed like only 15 mins away. So thats cool I get to see my ex-boyfriend again. We've last seen each other over a year ago. I'm looking forward to it. What else: We been to Bellys again and they let us in, so we can still go there for free from time to time. I started to go to the tanning studio, because the weather gets rainy and I look sick. Tanning is kinda cheap here, it's only 5 Dollars for 20 mins. But the standard is really low! Okay I better go, I have class in some minutes.
Today is a national holiday and the kids have no school, that's why I had to watch Jake the whole day. He had two playdates and we also went to the libary. During the time he wasn't here I did some of my assignments for college and I talked to my Mom on the phone. She went to Belgium for four days and now she is back home! She really enjoyed the trip. My weekend was better than the last one, lemme tell you about it: Friday we went to the movies where we met Pascal, Maggie, Stefanie and the new replacement guy for Stefan: Volker. We saw a movie with George Clooney, but I dunno the movie was kinda stupid but George is HOT! Saturday we went to Six Flags, Great America, thats a huge adventure park with Rollercoasters and stuff. They had a Fright Fest, bc of Halloween so I had a coupon where I buy one ticket and get the second one for free. But at six I had to leave, because I had to work that evening, so Aga and Prescilla stayed until 10 and later I went over to Aga's house where we drunk vodka in the basement! Hehe! Sunday we had pretty nice weather, we went downtown by train to do some sight-seeing. Thursday we did go to the gym, but this time, Eric wasn't at the front desk so we had to sign up for a 8-day-Coupon, where we can go in for free and after those 8 days we have to sign a contract, but it is really expensive. First month you pay 100 Dollar and the next months 40 Dollars, that's why we might not go to Bellys again!
I'm in class right now and it is kinda boring. I mean we are practising complementary, analogous colors in Photoshop. I already had that in college, and if we go on so slowely, we will never reach the goal of this class. Anyway, today is my day off and I went with Aga and her kid Lexy to the Kohl's Children Museum. We spent like 2 hours there and it was kinda funny. Yesterday, me, Aga, Prescilla, Jamie and Kathi went to Chicago Downtown to the International Movie Festival. We saw an icelandic movie, which was kinda boring. Moreover we paid 10 Dollars for sitting in the 2nd row, and the movie had subtitles. But at the end of the movie there was a Q&A with the main actor. It was kinda strange and I didn't expect to see the actor in reality, it felt strange. After the movie we went to Tacobell, my new favorite restaurant. Today we will probably go to the gym again, we went there Tuesday too. Oh forgot to tell you: My Mom is in Belgium!
Weekend is over, what can I say? It was damn boring!! You may wonder what I did, not much: Saturday me and Aga went to the Movies, as there was nothing else to do. We saw "Duplex", which was okay. Sunday I stayed home most of the time, because Aga went downtown to see Disney on Ice, and so did my hostfamily. They were away from 2 to 9 pm. So I uploaded a few new pictures, did my assignments for school and yes thats all, until Aga came home. We went over to the Liquor Store to get Vodka, since Prescilla was still on vacation, Aga tried with her polish driver's license, and it worked. We didn't drink that night, but went to Chilis to have dinner and later went over to Rockland, where Anna had her leaving-party. Everyone was there, and Jamie showed us the pictures from the Octoberfest. Looked like they all had a lot of fun in Germany. Alot of people will leave soon, after Anna, Pascal will leave, and that mexican Aupair and so on..mmh! Cubs won yesterday 5:1 !!! Go cubs!! Yep, today Jake has money kids, and we might go to the gym later, depending on Aga.
Friday evening, I'm off and sitting at home doing nothing. I'm bored and nobody has time for me. They are all watching the Cubs game, aww. I set up the DSL over here, so now I can surf faster *smiles* Yesterday I got my Illinois driver's license. The test was easy, it took me 3 hours, because there was a long line. First I had to pass the vision test, then the road test (I got all answers correct!) and last the driving test. Driving test was stupid: I only had to drive around the block, so it was pretty easy. And the test-person said, that Germans are the best drivers, so how couldn't I pass? Got my license the same day, I need to scan it for you, I'm proud of it. I talked to my Mom on the phone today, she is going to Belgium for a few days because of work.
I bought an international calling card at a polish shop and used it the same day. I called Heiko on cell phone and also my Grannys! Tuesday I got a huge letter from my Mom, a postcard from the Zoo in Leipzig and a letter from Anja! Thanks! Monday we went to the gym again to work out. After exercising we tried the swimming pool and the whirlpool, it was really relaxing. We probably go there again on Friday. Tomorrow is my day off and I'm planning to take the driving test finally. It takes me so long and the insurance really needs my driving license number, bc of the accident. Jake had a soccer game yesterday and he scored one goal. He was really proud. Today he has ceramics and later tonight I will go over to Agas house to help her with her speech.
Evening! My class was pretty cool on Thursday, the teacher is nice and so far I know everything they talk about. The class is called "Graphics for the web" so it is based on Photoshop and Image Ready, and I need to get this book, which is like 50 Dollars! Next week there's no class, dont ask me why. Friday and Saturday I was off, so on Friday we went over to the movies to see "Under the Tuscan Sun" it is a really good movie about an American writer who starts her new life in Italy, after she got divorced. After the movies we decided to get a bottle of Vanilla vodka, so we sent Prescilla into the liquor store to get it for $12 because she was the onliest one over 21! So we ended up staying overnight at Aga's place watching Dumbo and drinking Vodka-Coke. Saturday I had my Aupair Cluster meeting, we went miniature golfing, I took a few Pictures! What else: I been to the first Mc Donalds ever, it is in Des Plaines, and it's now a museum. Looks more like a Drive thru' Mc Donalds and next to the old one they built a new one. Jake is a Cub-Scout now and we had to sell popcorn for 3 hours today. At the end we got 120 Dollar! But only because that damn popcorn was like 15$ per package!
Today is Wednesday, lemme tell you what happened the last days. Friday we went to the Gym again and exercised legs only, you can imagine how I felt afterwards, it was more than flying than walking around *lol* I also visited Russel. Saturday and Sunday I was off, so Saturday I went shopping with Aga at Old Orchards Mall. I spent more than $100 for clothes. You know I need some winter clothes, it is already cold outside and fall just started. Sunday me, Aga and Prescilla went downtown by train, because Aga had a cluster meeting at Holography Museum. We met new Aupairs and some we already knew. Afterwards we went on a ride with a Trolley thru downtown and went back home to watch TV and later to the movies. We saw "Thirtheen". Uhh this movie was really dramatic. Something funny happened tho': When we were at Aga's house, she forgot to put on the car-brake. Imagine the car moved by itself and bumped against a garden figure. The car has a huge scratch now and it is about $1000 but she doesnt has to pay, she won't get paid for one week. Jake acted really weird lately, he seems to be really tired after school, so he is moody, and doesn't get along with other children at the park or he calls me or them names, like dumbest babysitter ever etc. I talked to the parents about that, they said not to take it personal. Tomorrow is my first day of class and I'm really looking forward to meet some new people :)I called Anja and my Mom yesterday, and my Mom said they probably come over to visit me in February for my Birthday! Cool!
Morning! Aga just left, we actually wanted to go bike-riding but I feel so bad, that we stayed here and she exericed at my house. The reason why I feel so sore: On Monday we went to the gym from 9 pm to 11 pm! The black guy, Eric, we got to know at the shopping mall, invited us. He is a personal trainer! I enjoyed it and the gym is totally cool, but expensive! Yesterday I met up with Rob, he is really nice, we had great conversations. I also watched Jake playing soccer in the afternoon, he is really good at it. Actually he is good at every sports. And I called Noell yesterday, for the first time, we know eachother since 1998, but we never talked on the phone! Pretty cool!! I gonna meet her hopefully during this year, I really need to.
It is after noon and I just uploaded Pictures of yesterday. Me, Aga and Prescilla went shopping at Gurnee Mall again and ate at Tacobell and Dunkin Donuts. They are kinda funny. On Friday we all went to the Movies, we saw Cabin Fever! Do not watch it, it is kinda weird, at the beginning it is funny, then it is really scary and at the end it is sarcastic. Whoa this was the strangest movie I ever saw!! On Septembr 11 I went to the Zoo and didn't donate blood, because it was too late. We finished the zoo at 6 pm and then went to California Pizza Kitchen to have dinner. Those was the best pizza I have ever had!! YUMMY!!
It is after 10 pm and Im sitting here online, checking out what's going on tomorrow in Downtown Chicago. Tomorrow is September 11 and I really wanna go and donate blood somewhere, like I always do every year. Aga is going downtown with her kid, to the zoo so I gonna join them, and maybe stay there a little longer, to visit a photo gallery in clark street! Because tomorrow is my day off and I dont wanna stay in Lake Forest. Jake had no school today, so I had to watch him from 8 am to 6 pm. We did some school stuff in the morning and then went over to the botanical garden, had lunch at Buffos and ice cream at Mc Donalds. I took alot of pics at the botanical garden, I might put them up when they are developped. I got a letter from Anja today *thanks hun* miss you, and a letter from the college, finally the lowered the price for my Graphic class. It is 70 Dollars now, but it was like 250 Dollars before I sent in a letter. Anyway, congrats to Tini, who got her little baby gurl last week, named Lara-Sophie! I already saw pics, she is sooo cute !! Hope you liked my package Tini?? I guess thats all, Im heading to bed!
Evening..today was my day off. I slept until 11 and then went downtown, bc of the license, but the German consulat was closed. They changed the opening hours, their website says open until 4 pm but they already closed at noon. So I went there for nothing..great!!!! Anyway, yesterday was Melanie's and Janine's Leaving party at Rockland. We had fun but it was a little bit sad..oh well, Germany got them back..*Eat a Doener for me guys* I put on weight, 3 kg's *OMG* Im getting fat..sh*t..thats why me and Aga went bike riding for two hours yesterday morning..my legs and ass are sore..tomorrow morning we go into the fitness room. We really need to start doing some exercise *lol*
Okay, alot of things happened .. August 31 was my first Cluster meeting, actually the 2nd, bc I couldnt attend the first one! Anyway it was Downtown, so I had to take the 7.30 am train, because the meeting is at 10.30 and there was no train running at 8.30 so I arrived there a little early .. but thats okay, since I wanted to take more pics for my Mom .. finally at 10.30 I didnt see any Aupairs at the meeting place. I was like? Mmh? Strange! Finally 10.45 a french girl came over to me and asked if I was waiting for this cluster meeting, and I was so happy that I found someone to wait with me. We met another Aupair, from Germany and at 11 we went down to the boat meeting place where we finally met some more Aupairs and my coordinator Emily. Well at the end we were only 6 Aupairs and 2 Coordinator but they expected like 20 Aupairs, nobody came. Then it stared raining, and we did the boat trip while it was raining, we didnt even get a seat because all seats were taken by Japanese people! It was kinda boring but oh well. So I rode home like at 3 and met up with Aga, the polish Aupair. We called the brazilian Aupair and a new German Aupair, and then went over to Janine's BBQ party. Her hostfamily was on vacation so she threw a party. It was awesome. We were 12 Aupairs, and it was alot better than the original cluster meeting. See u have to organize everything by yourself. Yesterday was my hostmothers birthday. I had to watch Jake while they went playing golf and gone shopping. Jake's coming home in some minutes so I better get ready.
August 20 I went downtown to see Hanson! I met alot of fans and it was just awesome. Unfortunately the pictures I took went out really blurry (fuck this digital camera). I got me a new poster for 8 Dollar. They played in a bar calle SCHUBAS, and it was really far away from the trainstation. But I got directions how to get there, so thanks to Ben again. Thursday was my day off and I first went to the Gurnee Mills Mall with Crystl. We spend about 5 hours there. I got me new shoes, they look cute, and I only paid 12 Dollar. Well in the evening I picked up Sam and while we were on the way to an Italian Restaurant, I got in a car accident !!! I was making a legal U-Turn, had my signal on, slowed down and this car behind me crashed into my side. The PT Cruiser has some scratches but on his car the front lights are totally damaged. I was sooo shocked, I never ever had an accident, and I couldnt even think about what to do - it was so awful. My Mom called me today and I also talked to my aunt, who came over to go to the Dresden Fest and I called my Grandmom. She was really happy about it. I had to work today, but Im off soon, so Im going over to Aga's house, thats a polish Aupair. We had so much fun yesterday night, when we went to 'Dennys' to get something to eat.I gonna create an Aupair Illinois Website soon!
Well my week was alright, it was Jake's last week at Mad Science Camp and next week he has off and the other week he starts with school. I didnt do much this week, met up with Melanie a couple times and today I went shopping to Gurnee Mills Mall. Got me clothes and some other stuff. I am updating all my subsites currently, as I have nothing else to do. I got me a bank account on Friday and I also got my Student Id number, so I registered for a class at Lake Country College. It starts in September and Im taking a class called "Graphics for the Web". I have to go in one time a week for 1 hour and 50 minutes but Im really looking forward to it. Today was the Rivershow in Chicago but I didnt go. Some people told me it is kinda boring, moreover Jamie didnt get back to me about going on his boat -oh well.
This week is almost over, whoa! Wednesday was the Lake Forest Day. They had alot of rollercoasters and swingers and whatever there. Jake really liked it and me too. I went there with the other Aupairs. Thursday I had to meet my Local Coordinator Emily at Target. She asked me several things, and also told me alot. The next Cluster Meeting will be on August 31, we gonna do a boat-trip in Chicago. Should be cool to meet other Aupairs, but I already did a boat-trip. Today we are going to a German Restaurant, called Berghoff, Im kinda curious if they have real German meals there and if they taste like it. This weekend I have to work. The boat trip was soooo cool!! Really, I had a blast! We were 9 people on Jamie's boat. We rode to Chicago on his boat and we had such a wonderful view on the skyline! We seen the boat-parade at Monroe harbor and watched the fireworks, which came up at like 10 pm. Afterwards we rode thru the city, seen the tall ship festival, and stopped by to eat something. We came home at 3 am!! Really really late but it was sooo cool!!! Im going pick up Jake from a birthday party and then we are going to the pool because it is such a nice weather outside.
First of all Happy Birthday to Romy! She turns 20 today! Okay alot to tell you guys! The German Fest in Milwaukee was pretty cool! The Americans were dressed like Germans, drunk German Beer and ate German food such as Bratwurst, Schnitzel etc. And they danced to German music - really funny! At the end there was a huge firework! What else mmh I went to a Street Fest in Chicago last Sunday, and this totally rocked! It was on Lincoln Avenue, alot of bands played, and partying until 10 pm! They told me that there is a Street Fest like that one, every week so this Sunday it is on Division Street, but I cannot go because I have to work. Oh well! Then this Wednesday I went to a club in Downtown Chicago, I could get in, because Sam knew the owner. It was the best club ever, you cannot compare it to any German club! And the gurls and guys were all so hot, hehe! It really rocked. Thursday I had off, so I went to Waukegan with Melanie and Anna and we got me my Social Security number! On our way back, we went shopping at Gurnee Mall, which is so huge!!!! I got me two tops for only 20 Dollar, oh damn they have so much cool stuff and clothes over here! There was a Hello Kitty Store too -crazy! Friday me and the other Aupairs saw American Wedding at the theater, guys go and see this movie, it is so AWESOME!!! It is better than American Pie 1+2, it really is sooooo FUNNY! And today I slept until 10 and now Im online, waiting until 1.45 pm so that I can pick up Melanie and we are driving over to Jamie's house, where we will meet the rest. On his boat we are going to Chicago, where a harbor fest is, should be cool.
